House Errata and Clarifications

It doesn't say this anywhere really, but surely reinforcement cannot be placed in a space occupied by a CU or independent army, right? I could explain how these situations can come up, if needed. It was important in our first game. Seems like errata to me. Surprised no one has mentioned this before!

Reinforcements may not be placed in a space occupied by an enemy CU or independent army.

A major general may not be placed via reinforcement in a space containing an enemy major general unless at least one friendly CU is placed there at the same time. Demetrius cannot be placed via his card in a space containing an enemy major general.

If at least one CU is placed (by reinforcement, or event or general card) in a space occupied by an enemy major general who is neither inside a major controlled city nor accompanied by at least one enemy CU, the enemy general must make a Leader Loss Check (dies on a 5 or 6) and any royal family members under his faction's control are either captured or become inactive per 18.0.

All the CUs that arrive with a major general (via general card) arrive stacked with him.

For 2 and 3 player games, in option 2 replace both instances of "does not contain an enemy CU" with "does not contain an enemy CU or independent army".

No more than 2 CUs may be placed as reinforcements on a transit point or independent stronghold that is occupied by a minor general.

9.9 change "enemy Army" to "enemy or independent Army".

If there are no adjacent provinces (i.e. from Cyprus or Crete), or no eligible spaces in adjacent provinces, instead of spilling over, no independent control marker is placed. Also (clarification) markers placed by Unrest or Unrest Spreads may not be placed on transit points.

There may be at most one independent marker (not army) in a space (i.e. Unrest cannot add one). We played this wrong in our game because Cyprus was all independent, and it has no adjacent (by land) provinces.

Unrest markers placed in major cities or strongholds are "3" strength, all others are "1" strength.

Independent armies have an assumed init of 2, for (optional) interception capability.

If you attack multiple independent armies, use the highest battle rating among them for their rolls.

If an independent army attacks one of your armies or generals, you may try to avoid battle or intercept.

The Cilician pirates only come into play via card play, i.e. not for control of Cicilia.

The Pontic Fleet does not apply to The Largest Fleet.

When any fleet is dispersed and it changes ownership, it remains dispersed.

In 7.5, the 2 MP path may not “jump over” a space containing Independent control markers.

The occupants of spaces along a naval path prevent "jumping over" for purposes of placing control markers (i.e. naval paths works like land paths).

The 6.1 clarification "You can place a control marker on any vacant space occupied by one or more Friendly CUs" does not apply to Transit spaces. (rather obviously)

A supply path cannot be traced through a space which contains no control marker if it is occupied by at least one enemy CU.

He who plays Ahura Mazda gets to keep the drawn card, but NOT draw another from the deck (as the normal replacement for a surprise card).

The effect of Condemnation if played while a general is condemned is that that general immediately gains 3L (and can trigger auto victory), then may be placed under condemnation again (thus losing 3L).

You may not use Drink the Hemlock to remove a royal family member outside a city where you are besieged. This includes inactive women, since inactive women are always outside major cities.

You can use Desertions on a force besieging you.

You can bury the body only on your own turn or during the End of Turn phase.

Both spaces in a two space avoid battle move must be friendly or neutral.

The -1 modifier for avoiding battle only applies to the first space entered while avoiding. Whether the 2nd (if there is one) is a transit space or not is irrelevant to the die roll.

A player turn includes the Surrender segment (clarification of the Glossary entry).
